Position Overview:

The Martha’s Outfitters Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the clothing boutique at Martha’s Table. The responsibilities include helping to prepare the store for its daily operations, sorting donations, organizing clothing and other items for distribution, supporting our Program Associates at guest check out, and helping to provide a positive guest experience for all.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sorting donations and organizing accessories for shoppers
  • Preparing clothing for the store floor
  • Assisting with registration and checkout for guests
  • Maintaining the organizational standard of a neat, clean, and organized store
  • Supporting inventory management
  • We provide exceptional customer service and maintain a warm and inviting guest atmosphere for all customers, staff, and donors. 

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Developed May Include:

  • Customer service skills - Speaking with guests and staff to help meet customer needs. 
  • Organizational skills: Identifying types and sizes of clothing items and arranging them for inventory and distribution, creating an organizational and distribution system for special bonus items, among other skills. 
  • Inventory Management: Sorting items by type and size and counting types and sizes of clothing items.
  • Building an understanding of fashion, including business apparel: building a familiarity with clothing types, sizes, and styles through donation sorting and organization. 
  • Developing a commitment to compassion, respect, teamwork, and accountability: successfully working with a diverse array of individuals, including other volunteers, guests, and staff, towards a common goal.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the assistant may be asked to stand for extended periods, comfortably lift at least 30 lbs., and maintain an active shift.
